Simple Solar ("we", "our", or "the App") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application.
2. Information We Collect
Local Data (stored on your device only): - Inverter login credentials (encrypted using platform secure storage) - App preferences and settings - Cached energy data for offline viewing - Schedule presets you create Cloud Data (if you enable Pro features): - Email address (for account identification) - Inverter access tokens (encrypted) - Inverter login credentials (encrypted with AES-256-GCM for automatic token refresh) - Automation schedules and preferences We do NOT collect: - Personal identification beyond email - Location data - Contacts or phone data - Usage analytics or tracking data
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information solely to: - Connect to your inverter system and display energy data - Execute automation schedules (Pro subscribers) - Send push notifications you have enabled (Pro subscribers) - Provide customer support when you contact us
4. Data Storage and Security
Local credentials are stored securely on your device using platform-provided secure storage (Keychain on iOS, Encrypted SharedPreferences on Android). Cloud data for Pro subscribers is stored in Firebase (Google Cloud) with industry-standard encryption and security practices. Inverter login credentials stored in the cloud are encrypted using AES-256-GCM encryption with a secure key stored in Google Cloud Secret Manager. This allows the automation service to refresh access tokens when they expire, without requiring you to re-enter your credentials. When your Pro subscription ends, or if you log out and clear your data, your encrypted credentials are permanently removed from our servers. We do not sell, trade, or share your personal information with third parties.
5. Third-Party Services
The App connects to the following third-party services: - Inverter API: To retrieve and control your solar system - Firebase (Google): For cloud features and authentication (Pro only) - Apple/Google: For in-app purchases and subscriptions - Google AdMob: For displaying advertisements (free version) These services have their own privacy policies that govern their use of data.
6. Advertisements
The free version of Simple Solar displays advertisements through Google AdMob. AdMob may collect device identifiers and usage data according to Google's privacy policy. Pro subscribers do not see advertisements.
7. Data Retention
Local data remains on your device until you uninstall the App or clear app data. Cloud data for Pro subscribers is retained while your subscription is active. If you cancel, your data is retained for 30 days before deletion to allow for resubscription.
8. Your Rights
You have the right to: - Access your data stored in the App - Delete your data by uninstalling the App - Request deletion of cloud data by contacting us - Opt out of advertisements by subscribing to Pro
9. Children's Privacy
The App is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
